The ETA 6498-1 is part of ETA's Mecaline Specialties line, the updated Savonette/Hunter variant with small seconds at 6 o'clock. Operating at 18,000 vph with a 44-degree lift angle, it shares the same robust 36.6mm architecture as the 6497-1. The crown/stem removal uses a screw system (like vintage pocket watches) rather than a detent button. Part of the most common mechanical calibers in the industry, descended from the 1950s Unitas pocket watch movement. Used by premium brands including Omega (Cal. 2201), TAG Heuer (Calibre 1), MeisterSinger, Steinhart, Archimede, Laco, and Tissot in pocket watches and large wristwatches.
