Chicago-based independent watch brand creating refined, robust tool watches with a distinctive American design identity. Known for high-touch customer relationships, treating buyers as 'owners' rather than customers, and delivering watches designed to be everyday companions.
Oak & Oscar was founded in 2015 by Chase Fancher, who left his career as a commercial real estate consultant at a Big Four firm to pursue his passion for watchmaking. The brand name combines two of Fancher's passions: bourbon (aged in oak barrels) and his dog Oscar. After spending years finding production partners and perfecting the design language, Fancher launched with the Burnham in 2015, followed by the Sandford GMT (2016), Jackson Flyback Chronograph (2017), Humboldt (2018), and the Wilson-collaboration Ashland (2019). The brand operates from the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago and hired its first in-house watchmaker, Nathan Bobinchak, in 2020.
