MAT watches
ActiveMAT watches is a French watch brand based in Paris. Its range includes aviation and adventure watches, automatic models, quartz chronographs and hybrid mechanical-quartz chronographs. The watches use third-party movements and are assembled by Péquignet in the Jura.
Fabrice Pougez founded MAT in 2005, according to the brand's current history page. MAT stands for Mer-Air-Terre, or Sea-Air-Land. Based in Paris's Madeleine district, the brand developed a range of technical and sports watches. In 2020, it introduced the quartz-powered Egg Master with the Association de Sauvegarde de l'Oeuf Mayonnaise, adapting a countdown timer to cooking eggs. The later Egg Master II uses a Soprod M100 automatic movement. MAT's current production account identifies Soprod as a movement supplier, La Pratique as a hand-making partner and Péquignet as its watch assembler.
