Bremont

Bremont was founded in 2002 by brothers Nick and Giles English, whose passion for horology was inherited from their father, Dr. Euan English—an ex-RAF pilot with a PhD in Aeronautical Engineering. The brothers gained mechanical expertise through clock assembly and aeroplane construction with their father. Tragedy struck on March 4, 1995, when their father was killed and Nick was badly injured in a crash of their World War II-vintage Harvard aircraft during an air show training flight. This pivotal event ultimately led the brothers to purchase North Weald Flying Services, where they worked together before deciding to create their own watch company. The brand name 'Bremont' comes from a French farmer named Antoine Bremont who helped them when they made an emergency landing in his field during a flight across France. In 2021, Bremont opened 'The Wing,' a £25+ million, 35,000-square-foot Manufacturing & Technology Centre outside Henley-on-Thames, capable of producing up to 50,000 watches annually. In 2023, American billionaire Bill Ackman and Hellcat Acquisitions invested £48.4 million, becoming majority owners. The English brothers remained as brand ambassadors after departing the board in April 2025.
