The Seiko Astron, reference SSE170J1, is a GMT watch with a 46.7 mm titanium case. The case measures 14.5 mm thick, with a water-resistance rating of 200 metres. Solar-powered calibre 8X53 contains 12 jewels and operates for approximately 6 months when fully charged. Over the dial is a sapphire crystal with a Super Clear coating. The dial has a date display; LumiBrite appears on the hands and indices. Movement accuracy is plus or minus 15 seconds per month without signal reception at temperatures between 5 and 35 degrees Celsius. The bezel has a ceramic insert. A silicone strap fastens with a three-fold clasp with push-button release.
