Rolex's Datejust 31 mm, reference 278343RBR-0018, comes in a case of steel and yellow gold measuring 31 mm across. The case carries a domed bezel set with diamonds and holds a Perpetual, mechanical, self-winding movement, calibre 2236, rated with a power reserve of approximately 55 hours. A Cyclops lens sits over the date on the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The dark grey dial is set with diamonds, and the watch is a chronometer, certified for accuracy after casing. Central seconds and a screw-down crown round out the functional side. The bracelet is steel and gold, closed with a concealed folding Crownclasp. It stays water resistant to a depth of 100 metres.
