Rolex Datejust 31 mm, reference 278274-0006, comes in a case of steel and gold measuring 31 mm across. The fluted bezel is executed in gold, a Rolex signature detail that also marks this out as a Superlative Chronometer. Behind the sapphire crystal, with its Cyclops lens over the date, sits a white mother-of-pearl dial set with diamonds. Inside is the calibre 2236, a self-winding movement with a power reserve of approximately 55 hours. The screw-down crown and central seconds hand are typical Datejust features, and the watch is a chronometer in the strict Rolex sense of the term. It is fitted to a steel bracelet closed by a concealed folding Crownclasp in steel and gold. Rolex rates the case to 100 metres of water resistance.
