Rolex Datejust 31 mm, reference 278240-0017, has a 31 mm Oystersteel case with a domed bezel. The bright blue dial sits under a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a Cyclops lens over the date. Inside is the calibre 2236, a self-winding movement with a power reserve of approximately 55 hours. Rolex certifies the watch as a chronometer. The dial shows a central seconds hand and a date display, and the screw-down crown adds a further layer of protection. A steel Oyster bracelet closes with a folding Oysterclasp fitted with the Easylink comfort extension link. That same crown, together with the case construction, holds the watch to its 100 metre water resistance rating.
