Family: Historical Pocket Watch7/11/15/18 jewels

Model 1857 is a manual-winding movement produced by Waltham. Launched in 1857, it was the first industrialized pocket watch in America and the first practical, entirely American-made pocket watch. The movement was produced in multiple grades—Appleton Tracy (15-18 jewels), P.S. Bartlett (7-15 jewels), and Wm. Ellery (7-11 jewels)—in 18-size cases with keywind/keyset, later supplemented by stemwind variants. Abraham Lincoln owned serial number 67613. Production has been discontinued.
