Caliber 1556 is a discontinued Rolex automatic movement introduced in 1965 for the Day-Date collection. Operating at 19,800 vph, it belongs to the 15xx caliber family and was manufactured in-house by Rolex. The movement powered Day-Date references throughout the late 1960s and 1970s before being succeeded by later caliber generations.
