ETA SA 980.003

ETA 980.003 is a rectangular quartz movement measuring 15.15 × 13.0 mm with a height of 2.2 mm, manufactured by ETA SA in Switzerland. Operating at 1.55 V, it produces 12 output impulses per minute with current consumption at 0.60 μA or lower. The movement includes a battery-saving stem-out feature: pulling the handsetting stem to position 2 activates a stop lever that reduces power draw to under 0.5 μA. An end-of-life function triggers 4-step jumps every four seconds when battery voltage drops below 1.40 V. Also known as ETA 980.005, it was used primarily in compact dress watches.
