The Accutron 214 is a historic tuning fork movement produced by Bulova. Launched in 1960, it was the first electronic watch to reach the market, operating at 360 Hz to deliver superior timekeeping accuracy compared to mechanical movements of the era. The movement uses a vibrating tuning fork powered by a miniature battery, a technology that marked a significant departure from traditional mechanical watchmaking. Production continued until 1977, when Bulova discontinued the line in favor of emerging quartz technology.
