Traska was founded in 2018 by Jon Mack in Jacksonville Beach, Florida after he damaged his vintage Bulova Snorkel during a trip to Southeast Asia, inspiring him to create robust, well-priced sport watches. The brand prioritizes constant improvement over constant availability, with their first model (Freediver) going through seven iterations to reach its current form. Traska is known for using hardened stainless steel that is highly scratch-resistant, premium Miyota movements, and boxed double-domed sapphire crystals. The company has grown from a bootstrap operation to include team members across North America, Europe, and beyond, built through word-of-mouth within the watch enthusiast community.
