Naoya Hida & Co. is a Japanese independent microbrand creating hand-finished timepieces that blend 1930s-60s vintage aesthetics with modern precision manufacturing. Known for hand-engraved dials, German silver (maillechort) dial construction, and meticulous attention to traditional finishing techniques.
Founded in 2018 by Naoya Hida after a distinguished 30-year career in luxury watch sales and marketing at houses including Jaeger-LeCoultre, Breguet, Vacheron Constantin, F.P. Journe, and Ralph Lauren Watch & Jewelry in Japan. The first watch, the NH Type 1B, debuted in 2019 to critical acclaim. The brand operates from a small Tokyo workshop with a core team including watchmaker Kosuke Fujita (WOSTEP-certified, joined 2020) and master engraver Keisuke Kano (formerly Seiko Epson and Tiffany, joined 2022). Production is extremely limited at approximately 75 pieces annually, with purchases allocated through an application/lottery system due to overwhelming collector demand.
