Marathon Watch Company
ActiveCanadian military watch manufacturer supplying U.S. Armed Forces since 1941, designed in Canada and manufactured in Switzerland.
The company that became Marathon Watch was originally founded in 1904 as Weinsturm Watch, later renamed Wein Brothers. In 1939, Morris Wein established Marathon Watch Company in Montreal, Canada, supplying precision timepieces throughout North America. Beginning in 1941, Marathon began manufacturing timing instruments for the Allied Forces during World War II, establishing the military heritage that defines the brand today. The company is part of the broader Wein family watchmaking tradition, which also includes the Chicago-based Hampden Watch, founded in 1922. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership under President Mitchell Wein, Marathon continues to manufacture watches conforming to United States Military Standard MIL-PRF-46374G and specifications of other nations.
