Fisherman was created by Teo, who describes growing up in Bulgaria and developing his interest in watches during three years living in the Netherlands. A watch-building kit given to him by his wife led him to assemble watches at home and develop his own designs. The brand's name reflects his interest in fishing, while its three-fish logo draws on the Christian Ichthys symbol. The current collection comprises the Perch, a sport-diver-style watch, and the Beluga, which has a fluted bezel and exhibition caseback. The watches are assembled in Bulgaria using third-party automatic movements. The official story does not state a founding year.
