Independent family-owned Swiss watchmaker founded in 1919, specializing in mechanical watches with strong presence in Asian markets.

Fritz Schluep, a trained watchmaker, founded the company in 1919 in Grenchen, Switzerland, initially under the name Felco (later Felca). Starting with just three employees, the visionary entrepreneur quickly expanded, reaching 15 staff within a year. Schluep recognized early the need to look beyond Swiss borders, establishing distribution in Germany, America, and Japan. In 1938, Bruno Schluep, Fritz's son and a master watchmaker trained at Le Locle technical college, joined the family firm. During WWII, the company earned an exclusive US Army order for 30,000 watches due to its reputation for precision and reliability. The TITONI brand was created in 1952 to serve a more demanding clientele, featuring the meihua (plum blossom) as its emblem-a flower native to Southwest China symbolizing resolution and endurance. Bruno Schluep established crucial contacts with Chinese businessman Koh Mui Yew in 1944, and by 1960, the Chinese State Import Authority began ordering TITONI watches after a delegation visited Switzerland. The company evolved from Felca Ltd. to Felca & Titoni Watches Ltd., eventually becoming Titoni Ltd., with the Felca brand serving Europe while TITONI dominated Asian markets. After Fritz's death in 1959, Bruno expanded the company's global presence until his passing in 1981, when Daniel Schluep assumed leadership. Today, the fourth generation (Marc and Olivier Schluep) has joined the operative leadership, continuing over a century of family watchmaking tradition.
