Italian luxury house founded in 1884 in Rome by Greek silversmith Sotirios Voulgaris, producing jewelry, watches, fragrances, and accessories. Acquired by LVMH in 2011.

Sotirios Voulgaris, a silversmith from Paramythia in Ottoman Epirus, moved to Rome and opened a jewelry shop on Via Sistina in 1884. In 1905, the Via Condotti flagship store was unveiled. After Sotirios died in 1932, sons Giorgio and Costantino led the company. Bulgari introduced Serpenti bracelet-watches as the 1940s came to a close. In 1977, Bulgari entered horology with the BVLGARI BVLGARI watch. In the early 1980s, Bulgari Time was founded in Switzerland to oversee watch production. In 1984, Paolo and Nicola Bulgari became chairman and vice-chairman. In 2000, Bulgari acquired the Gérald Genta and Daniel Roth watchmaking brands, gaining high-end manufacturing capabilities in Le Sentier. LVMH acquired Bulgari in 2011, with the Bulgari family exchanging their 50.4% stake for LVMH shares. Under LVMH, the Octo Finissimo line set multiple world records for ultra-thin watches, including the thinnest tourbillon (2014), thinnest automatic (2017), and thinnest mechanical watch at 1.80mm (2022).
