The Landeron Cal. 248 is a refined cam-switching chronograph movement from the Cal. 48 family, widely used in the 1960s. It represents one of the final revisions to the 'JI' hammer design, succeeding the Cal. 148. Like its predecessors, it uses Heuer-style oscillating pinion for chronograph activation and retains the distinctive start (2:00) and stop/reset (4:00) button operation. The movement was popular among various brands including Heuer-Leonidas, Nivada, and Ardath. The Cal. 248 served as the base for the Cal. 187 (with date) and Cal. 348 (with hour counter).
