The Landeron Cal. 149 is a cam-switching chronograph movement that addressed a long-standing quirk of the Cal. 48 family. Unlike its predecessors where start was at 2:00 and stop/reset at 4:00, the Cal. 149 introduced conventional chronograph operation with start/stop at 2:00 and reset at 4:00 - matching the industry standard. This made it more intuitive for users accustomed to other chronograph movements. It shares the 'JI' hammer design with the Cal. 148. The similar Cal. 189 adds a date complication, and Cal. 349 adds an hour counter.
