The Landeron Cal. 148 is a post-WWII cam-switching chronograph movement from the Cal. 48 family. It features a distinctive 'JI' shaped hammer design, representing a major redesign of the actuation mechanism. Like the original Cal. 48, it uses Heuer-style oscillating pinion rather than a horizontal clutch for chronograph activation. The unconventional button operation (start at 2:00, stop/reset at 4:00) was retained. The Cal. 148 spawned the 14 ligne Cal. 154 and complicated versions including Cal. 185 (full calendar), Cal. 186 (calendar + moon), and Cal. 187 (date).
