The HMC 803 is an entirely skeletonized automatic caliber with a second time zone and interchangeable Moser minute tourbillon. The bidirectional rotor is made from 22-carat solid red gold and is also open-worked. The movement is made from nickel silver (German silver - brass alloy enriched with nickel), a choice dictated by tradition. The entire surface features carved decoration requiring almost 100 hours of work. Equipped with an original Straumann Double Hairspring, Moser teeth for all wheels, and automatic pawl-winding system with 18-carat red gold oscillating weight. The second time zone is indicated by a rhodium-plated hand, distinguished from the blued steel hour and minute hands.
