Vulcain's first automatic Cricket caliber, entirely developed in-house based on the proven V-10 architecture. This 12-ligne self-winding alarm movement represents over 60 years of evolution from the original 1947 Cricket. Contains 263 components (271 parts in the date version with 36 jewels) - 100 more than its hand-wound predecessor - to accommodate the automatic winding system. Like the V-10, it uses a twin-barrel design: one barrel delivers energy for hours, minutes, and seconds, while a separate barrel powers the 20-second alarm function. The movement beats at 18,000 vph and provides 42 hours of power reserve. Features Vulcain's patented Exactomatic system for improved positional accuracy, and the automatic winding is achieved through a unidirectional rotor mounted on ceramic ball bearings. The caliber is beautifully finished with rhodium coating, Côtes de Genève motifs, and blued screws. The lift angle is 48°. The alarm is activated by an arm striking an anvil supported by a balance spring, producing the distinctive Cricket chirp. Used in the '50s President' collection, Cricket X-Treme, and other modern Vulcain models.
