The Cricket caliber adapted for dive watch use, first introduced in the revolutionary Vulcain Nautical of 1961. While mechanically identical to the standard Cricket V-10, its application in the Nautical diver is unique: the triple caseback construction (patented by Ervin Piquerez in 1956) features 16 holes around its perimeter that allow the alarm to be audible underwater - making it one of the few dive watches with a functional mechanical alarm at depth. The original 1961 Nautical was developed with diver Hannes Keller (who held the record for deepest dive at 222 meters) and featured built-in Keller-Bühlmann decompression tables on the dial. The alarm was designed to alert divers when their allotted dive time was complete. Modern Nautical models (2011 re-edition and 2023 update) use the same V-10 movement with the signature double-barrel architecture. Current versions are rated to 300m water resistance and can be optioned with either a solid triple caseback or a sapphire display caseback. The 2023 Nautical measures 42.2mm diameter with 16.6mm thickness (display back) or 17.35mm (solid back).
