A smaller 14-ligne version of the Cricket caliber, introduced in 1958 primarily for ladies' alarm watches under the 'Golden Voice' name. Like the original Cal. 120, it retains the superior double-barrel architecture with separate mainsprings for timekeeping and alarm functions, providing approximately 20 seconds of alarm duration without affecting timekeeping power reserve. The 'Golden Voice' name refers to its unique acoustic properties: watches equipped with this caliber often feature an 18k gold resonating caseback, which produces a warmer, more crystalline tone than standard steel casebacks. The 406 equipped the famous Golden Voice collection, including rare 34mm men's versions that are now highly sought after by collectors. Features Vulcain's patented Exactomatic system for improved positional accuracy.
