The original Cricket alarm caliber, introduced in 1947 as the world's first truly functional alarm wristwatch. Developed by Robert Ditisheim, it features a revolutionary double-barrel architecture: one barrel for timekeeping with a 42-hour power reserve, and a separate barrel for the alarm mechanism providing up to 25 seconds of alarm duration. The movement uses a hammer striking an internal membrane, amplified through a perforated double caseback that produces the distinctive 'cricket-like' chirping sound. This groundbreaking movement won the International Chronometry Competition at Neufchatel Observatory in 1948 and became famous as 'The President's Watch' after Harry Truman received one in 1953. Available with either direct central seconds or small seconds configurations.
