The GP09100 houses Girard-Perregaux's revolutionary Constant Escapement mechanism, one of the most significant innovations in modern watchmaking. Using a silicon buckled blade just 14 microns thick (6 times thinner than human hair), it delivers constant impulses to the balance wheel regardless of mainspring tension variations. The concept originated from engineer Nicolas Déhon in 1996 and took over 15 years to bring to production. Named after brand founder Constant Girard-Perregaux, this movement provides an exceptional 6-day (144-hour) power reserve with constant force throughout.
