The F.P. Journe Caliber 1506 powers the Centigraphe, a revolutionary chronograph capable of measuring elapsed times from 1/100th of a second to 10 minutes across three dedicated dials. The 100th of a second hand makes one complete revolution per second, released by the watch's escapement, while the 20-second counter at 2 o'clock and 10-minute counter at 6 o'clock complete the timing display. A patented ergonomic rocker at 2 o'clock starts, stops, and resets the chronograph instead of traditional pushers. The mechanism features a patented configuration that isolates the chronograph from the timekeeping function, ensuring balance amplitude remains unaffected during operation. The 100th second and 20-second counters are driven by two separate wheel trains from the mainspring center, while another train drives the 10-minute hand. Power reserve is 80 hours without chronograph running, 24 hours with chronograph active. Available in aluminum alloy (for titanium cases) or 18K rose gold (for gold and platinum cases). Free-sprung balance with four masselottes for adjustment.
