The original ETA 2892 was introduced in 1975 as 'the flattest calibre in the world to be manufactured on an industrial scale.' It featured a 28mm diameter (larger than the later 2892-2 at 25.6mm) and served as an update to existing Eterna-Matic designs. Designed under Anton Bally. Replaced by the 2892-2 around 1983.
