NOMOS Glashütte is a German watchmaking company founded in January 1990 by Roland Schwertner in Glashütte, Saxony - just two months after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The brand specializes in artisan manual-winding and automatic mechanical watches with distinctive Bauhaus-inspired minimalist designs. NOMOS is known for offering true in-house manufacture movements at accessible prices, with all calibers developed and produced in Glashütte. In 2014, the company introduced its proprietary NOMOS swing system escapement, making it independent from Swiss suppliers. The brand won the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève in 2018, becoming only the second non-Swiss brand after A. Lange & Söhne to do so.
