BVLGARI

Founded in Rome in 1884 by Sotirios Voulgaris (Sotirio Bulgari), a Greek silversmith from Paramythia in Epirus, BVLGARI began as a jewelry shop on Via Sistina. Sotirios came from a family of silversmiths in Kalarrytes, the largest center for silversmithing in the Balkans. After his death in 1932, sons Giorgio and Costantino took over, expanding the brand during Rome's 'Dolce Vita' era when clients included Elizabeth Taylor, Ingrid Bergman, and Gina Lollobrigida. The iconic Via Condotti flagship opened in 1905. BVLGARI entered watchmaking in 1977 with the BVLGARI BVLGARI watch, and founded Bulgari Time in Switzerland in the early 1980s to oversee watch production. The year 2000 marked a pivotal moment with the acquisition of prestigious watchmakers Daniel Roth and Gérald Genta, bringing manufacturing facilities in Le Sentier and serious haute horlogerie expertise. Since 2014, the Octo Finissimo collection has shattered multiple world records for ultra-thin movements, establishing BVLGARI as a dominant force in high watchmaking.
